Tile making is in my blood, as a 4th generation tile make I have been around tiles and the marble industry since before I could walk. Back in 1992 my dad used to own a tile factory in Egypt, it is here from the age of 10 that I started to learn. My brothers and I used to help before and after school until we were old enough to work full time. My oldest brother and I became very well known as tile makers and decided to fly to Libya where the tile market was more in demand. In Libya I managed my own tile business and following this started a factory with my brothers back in Egypt.

In 2012 I moved to England where I now live, and took a break from tiles whilst working in the hospitality sector. But I have never stopped thinking about tiles as they are my passion. Over these years I have been developing the process and I am excited to be returning to my first passion, and bringing my style of tiles to the UK.

The tiles I make are designed and hand made using traditional Egyptian methods adapted and tested for use in the UK. Created with specific mix that includes cement, crushed marble and fine pigments to create colourful, stylish creations. Each tile is individually crafted not mass produced, which means that whilst each chosen pattern creates tiles that are similar, each tile will be individual and have variations. They are polished and sealed to give them a shine that is also non slip.

In hot climate countries like Egypt, Italy, and Morocco these tiles are typically used in all buildings to help keep them cool. Here they can be used in gardens as paths and on patios, in the home on walls , floor and ceilings, and in shops and retail places to create colourful vibrant spaces.

Tile Information and How to Order

The tile dimensions are 50cm by 50cm and 2cm thick. Currently there are few different designs available, they can also be ordered plain in the range of colours.

Pattern = Individually priced

Plain = £30 per tile £120 per square metre

Before you place your order we recommend you request a sample or samples to see the patterns and colours in real life. These are 20cm by 20cm by 2cm in size. To order a sample email abouelaalatiles@yahoo.com with the pattern and colours you would like. Each sample will cost £7.50 including delivery 2nd class standard parcel.

When choosing a pattern start by selecting the base colour you would like. This is typically white, grey, or black, but can be any of the colours. Then chose the one or two additional colours for the pattern. Your order can include a mixture of patterns and plain tiles, just include the detail and number you would like of each when ordering.

Once you have made your choice you then email with the details of the tiles you would like and the quantity and a quote will be created including the delivery cost* and sent to you with an estimated date of delivery. Once the quote has been accepted an invoice will be sent for the full amount and then once this is paid the tiles can be made and the delivery date scheduled. This can be anywhere between 1 and 4 weeks depending on quantity and schedule.

When the tiles are delivered you will be asked to check and sign that you have received them and that none are damaged. Any damages at this point will be replaced and delivered to you. Please keep in mind that all tiles are individually hand made so tiles will not be identical. Other than replacing damaged tiles at point of delivery there will be no replacements or refunds.
